Ga|lakt|u|ron|säu|re [↑ Galakt- u. ↑ Uronsäure] Symbol: GalA: aus Galaktose durch Oxidation der endständigen Alkohol- zur Carboxygruppe entstehende Carbonsäure (↑ Zuckersäure), die als Poly(galakturonsäure) im Pektin verbreitet vorkommt.
